► Processing trade determines China's trade surplus and bilateral trade balances. ► East Asia is the major source of China's processing imports. ► Japan, the US and EU are the major destinations of processing exports. ► If the yuan appreciates 10%, China's processing exports will decrease 9.1%. ► Its processing imports will decrease 5.0% too.
