Abstract
ⶠI calculate effective rates of protection (ERPs) for the Lao PDR in 2008. ⶠTrade policies, preferential and other, and investor incentives are accounted for. ⶠLao ERPs are highest for food, beverages, and tobacco, and certain manufactures. ⶠLao ERPs for other sectors are negative or small, and typical of Southeast Asia.
