Abstract
⺠We study the relation between family planning (FP) and women's employment in India. ⺠We focus on a program of doorstep visits by FP workers to women aged 15-49. ⺠We estimate models of the probability of female employment with district effects. ⺠The share of women visited by FP workers positively affects the probability of employment. ⺠This effect is especially relevant for paid employment.
