Abstract
► We exploit an original panel database on retail-bank branch locations in Antwerp. ► We give evidence of changes in branch locations at an unusually fine-grained scale. ► We show that from 1991 to 2006 bank branch dynamics substantially intensified. ► From 1991 to 2006 changes were systematically associated with neighborhood income. ► We advance a new technique for generating spatial measures of branch dynamics.
