Abstract
⺠We study how investor perceptions and behavior change during the financial crisis. ⺠Return expectations and risk tolerance decrease, while risk perceptions increase. ⺠Trading and risk-taking behavior fluctuate, driven by changes in perceptions. ⺠Ultimately, perceptions recover, and so does investor behavior.
