Abstract
⺠We simultaneously estimate net interest margins and noninterest income. ⺠A negative relationship between these variables exists from 1997 to 2002. ⺠No significant association between them is found for the subsequent period. ⺠Nontraditional activities adversely affect risk-adjusted profits in first period.
