Abstract
⺠We propose an advanced index - input slack-based productivity index. ⺠Proposed index can disaggregate total factor productivity growth into each input. ⺠Capital productivity reveals the dominant force behind the growth of Chinese banks. ⺠Technical progress in capital usage is the major source of capital productivity.
