Abstract
⺠We examine the bankruptcy ratio of small firms in Japanese credit market. ⺠Small bank loan lowers bankruptcy ratio of small firms. ⺠Small banks specialize more in relationship loans to small firms. ⺠But, this expertise is limited to the loans unincorporated firms.
