In this paper, we report cadmium perchlorate hydrate to be an novel, expeditious catalyst for the three-component one-pot reaction of an amine, an aldehyde and a H-phosphonate diesters in open air without any solvent, leads to α-aminophosphonates in excellent yields. To the best of our knowledge this finding is the first example of a cadmium perchlorate hydrate catalyzed Kabachnik-Fields reaction.
Graphical abstractCd(ClO4)2∙xH2O have been investigated as efficient catalyst for the one-pot synthesis of α-aminophosphonates under solvent free condition. This paper describes a comparison of various metal catalyst with different solvent condition.Figure optionsDownload full-size imageDownload as PowerPoint slideHighlights► Multicomponent synthesis of α-aminophosphonates. ► Catalytic amount of Cd(ClO4)2∙xH2O exhibited higher catalytic activity. ► The best result were obtained under solvent free condition. ► A plausible mechanistic approach has also been suggested.
