Abstract

An easy and efficient method for the preparation of the new Au/FeOx/SiO2 catalysts towards low-temperature CO oxidation has been developed. FeOx promoted SiO2 calcined at different temperatures were used as novel carriers and supported Au catalysts were prepared by precipitation–deposition technique. It was found that the carrier only dried at 383 K supported Au catalyst exhibited better catalytic activity, over which CO conversion reached 100% at a temperature as low as 350 K. Higher dispersion of FeOx and Au, more active sites and stronger interaction between Au and FeOx could be responsible for its higher activity.
