Abstract
- The socio-economic drivers of global flows of critical metals were analyzed. A gravity model was applied to identify the drivers of the metal flows.
- The critical metals examined were neodymium, cobalt, and platinum.
- Per-capita GDP, population, and inter-regional distance affect global flows.
- The proposed method can potentially be used to project critical metal flows.
