Abstract
The continuous increase of computing power, as well as the development of softwares dedicated to particles-matter interactions, and analytical tools allowing to get 2D or 3D mappings of the elements constituting a sample to be dated with a dosimetric method (Luminescence, ESRâ¦), open now a new window for estimating dose rates. Thanks to computer modelling, one has now the possibility to overcome a series of hypotheses and to avoid approximations, which are usually adapted to ideal samples but not to real ones. The new dosimetric approach presented in this article might however require to reconsider in the future field sampling and laboratory treatment of the samples.
