Abstract
In both the Lower and Upper Magdalenian, the carcasses have undergone thorough treatment. A variety of products were sought-meat, long bones, phalanges, claws and feathers-relating to different spheres of hunter-gatherer activity. Only a technique for segmenting the bones by sawing appears specific to the Upper Magdalenian.
