Abstract

•Overall primary intracranial tumour (ICT) case ascertainment in Scotland was 96.3%.•Outdated estimations of completeness of ascertainment of ICT should be revised with these more contemporary estimates.•Recording of benign pituitary tumours, predominantly microadenomas, is a weakness of the current cancer registration system.
