Abstract

•Multiple perceived attributes were examined in relation to neighborhood satisfaction.•All three physical characteristics were associated with greater satisfaction.•All three social characteristics were associated with greater satisfaction.•No gender differences existed in associations with neighborhood attributes.•Interventions can target physical and social factors to improve resident satisfaction.
