Abstract

The paper deals with the problem of picking heteromorphic products from an input conveyor and synchronously place them on an output conveyor with article buckets. The paper focuses on products with which classic gripping techniques cannot be used (heteromorphic, frozen, sliding, etc.). For this type of systems the paper proposes a new handling paradigm by means of pushing and holding back the products. The paper describes a prototype system that validates this paradigm. The paper describes the hardware configuration and the structure of the motion control system to implement the new paradigm.
