Abstract

The constructive design and systematical development of learning factories is one of the main topics in the field of research on learning factories. An intuitive design by technical experts often misses the consideration of didactical and educational approaches. Besides, a lack of defined and proven standards as well as transparency causes a decline of the learning system during the continuous operation. Furthermore, it is not yet possible to identify potentials for improvement. Hence, a maturity model for learning factories will be developed with the morphology on learning factories, established by the international community, as starting point.A deriveddescription model merges design levels, dimensions and elements and is the basis for the maturity model. For thedesign of the maturity model different existing models are compared and evaluated regarding their applicability to learning factories. Subsequently an approach is developed to design a maturity model for learning factories and presented in this paper.
