Abstract

In times of global competition, German companies in the manufacturing industries are facing huge challenges which are particularly posed by the struggle to compete with low-cost countries. The vision of Industrie 4.0 now provides new opportunities and chances to improve the resource and process efficiency by guaranteeing autonomy, decentralizing and networking. In this context, assistance systems play a key role when it comes to the rising complexity within production systems, minimizing the downtime of machines and automated assembly lines as well as learning and training on-the-job. To enable the active use of assistance systems, it is of utmost importance to develop learning factories which support workers indifferent tasks in the context of Industrie 4.0. As part of learning factories, assistance systems provide a digital learning environment. This paper presents a didactic approach for an Industrie 4.0 transformation as well as the setting and detailed scenarios within a learning factory for the described field of Industrie 4.0. It shows the technological impact of assistance systems within a production and covers the organizational and personal transformation process which together will considerably improve the companies' process efficiency.
