Abstract

Photo selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of nitric oxide (NO) was studied on Pd loaded TiO2 at room temperature. The NO conversions on photocatalyst prepared via the incipient wetness impregnation, was evaluated using a steady-state continuous-flow photoreactor under UV light irradiation. The photo-activity of the Pd/TiO2 catalyst could be significantly increased after reduction with H2 at 500 °C for 2 h. It was found that Pd improved the adsorption of C3H8 thus increased NO conversion up to 90%. N2O was not detected in the effluent. The results indicate that Pd/TiO2 is an effective photocatalyst to reduce NO pollutant at room temperature to N2.
