Abstract
Novel consecutive 11C- and 12C-methanol adsorption technique was used for the characterization of various vanadium species, which was formed during the solid state modification of MCM-41 with vanadia. Formation of redox and Lewis acidic sites, with dehydrogenation and dehydration activity, was assumed. Their contribution in the catalytic conversion of methanol could be successfully regulated by the pretreatment of the samples in oxidative and reductive medium.
