Abstract

•A direct, rapid determination method for pesticides in red wine and white wine.•No sample preparation and chromatography separation used.•Comparison between with/without preparation, and DART combined with different mass analyzers.

A rapid, direct analytical method based on direct analysis in real time combined with triple quadruple mass spectrometry (DART-QqQ) was proposed. Without sample preparation and chromatography separation, 31 pesticides either in red wine or in white wine could be determined less than 3 min. Pesticides in the range of 10-1000 ng/mL had good linearities (R2 > 0.99), performed on multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode by DART-MS/MS. The results of the limits of quantification (LOQs) were ranging between 25 and 500 ng/mL. Moreover, we also compared different DART method, i.e., with/without preparation, and different mass analyzers. The result showed direct DART-QqQ had two times improvement in speed, and a better detectability compared with DART-TOF.
