Abstract
Electronic absorption spectra of a family of mixed β-octasubstituted Zn(II)-meso-tetraphenylporphyrins revealed profound red-shift of their 'B' and 'Q' transitions in polar solvents relative to nonpolar solvents. These Zn(II)-porphyrins feature interesting binding properties with nitrogenous bases.215
