Abstract
In the present paper potential applications of Diffuse Reflectance Infrared Fourier Transform Spectroscopy (DRIFTS) in pharmaceutical analysis have been illustrated. A simple, precise, reproducible and eco-friendly solid state quantitative method in potassium bromide for the estimation of ranolazine in its tablet dosage forms using DRIFTS was developed. Area under the Curve (AUC) obtained for the carbonyl peak around 1689Â cmâ1was used for the development of calibration curve. The developed method was validated for precision, accuracy and linearity. The method has been employed for quantitation of ranolazine in marketed tablet formulations. The developed method was linear in the concentration range of 1-3% w/w (r2Â =Â 0.998), precise and accurate complying standard guidelines. The DRIFTS method developed for ranolazine may possess the potential to be used for in-house quantitative analysis.
