Abstract
Fe(III) substituted Keggin type polyoxometalate ((TBA)4PFeW11O39 · 3H2O) is an effective catalyst for the ring opening of epoxides with aromatic amines under neutral and mild conditions at room temperature. This regio- and chemoselective reaction proceeds rapidly and affords the corresponding β-aminoalcohols in excellent yields.
