Abstract
Cobalt complex, CobpbH2Cl22H2O [where, bpbH2 = 1,2-bis(pyridine-2-carboxamido)benzene] immobilized onto sulfonic acid-functionalized SBA-15 molecular sieve (SBA-15-SO3-CobpbH2Cl22H2O) has been found to be an efficient catalyst for epoxide ring opening by amines. A variety of β-amino alcohols with nearly 100% regio- and stereo-selectivities were produced with excellent yields under ambient conditions and in an environmentally friendly manner.
