Abstract
The effect of Sr2 + substitution on the electrical conductivity and chemical stability for Ba1 − xSrxFe0.9In0.1O3 − δ prepared by the Pechini method was investigated. The specimens could be indexed as cubic perovskite structure with disordered oxygen vacancies (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.8). To evaluate the properties of Ba1 − xSrxFe0.9In0.1O3 − δ, thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis and electrical conductivity measurements were performed under N2 flow. These experiments revealed that the major charge carrier shifted from oxide ions to electron holes by the partial substitution of Sr2 + into the Ba2 +-site. The substitution resulted in an enhanced electrical conductivity; this may be caused by an increase in the mobility of electron holes.
