Abstract
Six Ru(II) P-N donor complexes, both homoleptic and heteroleptic, were synthesized, using a novel disassembly process, from diruthenium(II,III) tetracaacetate. The complexes were fully characterized and the degree of P-N donor substitution was found to be sterically dictated. Electrochemical studies show higher redox potentials for those complexes with a greater degree of ligand Ï-acidity. One of the complexes displayed marked hemilability.110
