Abstract
The dinuclear copper complex was developed by a rational design to bind at two neighboring phosphate esters of the DNA backbone. The rigid ligand fixes the distance of the two copper ions to the distance of two neighboring phosphate esters and the chelating arms impede a binding to the less exposed nucleobases of the DNA.142
