Abstract
The synthesis of new compounds by reaction of the heteropolyacids H3[PM12O40]·nH2O (M = Mo, W) and selected substituted pyridines were performed by two different preparative methods: a mechanochemical methodology (based on the grinding of the starting materials and by the more common procedure of mixing the reagents in solution. Several new compounds were prepared at room temperature and characterised by infrared and UV-Vis absorption spectroscopies, powder X-ray diffraction and analytical techniques.
