Abstract
The moderate metal-binding 8-hydroxyquinoline-2-carboxaldehyde isonicotinoyl hydrazone (INHHQ) disrupts anomalous Cu-α-synuclein interactions in vitro. INHHQ crosses the blood-brain barrier, being well-tolerated by healthy Wistar rats at a concentration of 200 mg kgâ 1. It is non-toxic to human H4 cells and partially inhibits intracellular α-synuclein oligomerization. INHHQ, thus, shows definite anti-Parkinson's potential.102
