Abstract
The effect of cyanide on purified hydrogenase from Thiocapsa roseopersicina was characterized using visible and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The results indicate that cyanide can cause inactivation of the enzyme due to the destruction of ironâsulfur clusters with the release of iron ions in the form of ferrocyanide.77
