Abstract
A series of Pt(IV) prodrugs containing glutamine-like ligands was designed to exploit the increased demand of glutamine showed by some cancer cells. A complex of the series demonstrated a selective accumulation in A549 cancer cells where, upon reduction, it releases cisplatin preventing any possible extrusion by amino acid transporters.430
