Abstract
The Copper(II) and Iron(III) addition to isolated rat liver mitochondria produced decreased rates of mitochondrial respiration and oxygen consumption in active state 3 and phospholipid peroxidation by a Fenton/Haber Weiss mechanism of oxidative damage. Slightly different responses to the metal ions suggest some differences in the mechanism of intracellular toxicity.294
