Abstract
Ruthenium, rhodium and iridium bidentate, tridentate and tetradentate azine complexes have been prepared by the reaction of metal precursor with multidentate azine Schiff-base ligands. Tetradentate azine ligand L1 yielded mononuclear complexes whereas hexadentate ligand L2 afforded mono as well as dinuclear complexes. In the mononuclear complexes the ligands acted as tridentate as well as bidentate chelating ligand whereas in dinuclear complexes the ligand behaved as tetradentate bridging ligand.120
