New sterically-hindered 6th-substituted 3,5-di-tert-butylcatechols/o-quinones with additional functional groups and their triphenylantimony(V) catecholates

New 6-CH2X-substituted 3,5-di-tert-butylcatechols and o-benzoquinones (where X is methoxy, 3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl and benzimidazol-1-yl functions) have been synthesized. Novel triphenylantimony(V) catecholates based on new o-quinones have been prepared and characterized in details. The molecular structures of pyrazolyl-containing catechol and its o-quinone as well as catecholates (6-(CH2-OMe)-3,5-Cat)SbPh3 and (6-(CH2-Me2Pyr)-3,5-Cat)SbPh3·H2O in crystal were determined using single-crystal X-ray analysis.203
