Abstract
Happily married: Merging the 5,5â²,6,6â²-tetramethyl-2,2â²-bibenzimidazole complexes of ruthenium(II) and iridium(III) yields the complex Ir-BBI-Ru. With broad visible-light absorption, dual emission from both chromophore units and stable metal-centered electrochemistry Ir-BBI-Ru is an advantageous photosensitizer in light-driven photocatalytic hydrogen generation.274
