Abstract
A new osmate Ba3Os2O9 was synthesized. It crystalizes in Cs3Tl2Cl9-type crystal structure. Its magnetic susceptibility data display a very broad maximum around 170Â K, indicating the onset of antiferromagnetic correlations. However it is not a simple dimer system and inter-dimer interactions are not negligible.225
