Abstract
⺠Different sources of organic matter in the Bering Sea and N Pacific were assigned. ⺠SST and sea ice cover were reconstructed using alkenone and IP25 proxies, respectively. ⺠The alkenone unsaturation index did not reflect mean annual SST throughout the study area. ⺠Different calibrations should be used to reconstruct SST in the area. ⺠IP25 compound found only in samples north of the maximum ice edge in the Bering Sea.
