Abstract
⺠Extractant and soil type affect amount of extractable proteinaceous material (PM). ⺠Adsorption mechanisms for soil proteins may differ for different types of soil. ⺠Analysis of PM from highly organic soils is problematic due to humic compounds. ⺠Added protein adsorbs more rapidly to highly organic or clay soil than sandy soil. ⺠MW of the extracted compounds mainly <10 kDa, although ca. 15-50 kDa compounds also seen.
