Abstract
⺠A number (12) of methoxy-serratenes were detected in soils developed under spruce and pine. ⺠Serratenoids can be produced by moss, gymnosperms and angiosperms, according to literature data. ⺠Conversely, methoxy-serratenes are exclusively reported in Pinaceae. ⺠Methoxy-serratene detection in soils attests to their resistance to early diagenesis. ⺠Their detection in sediments could help unravel Pinaceae forest dynamics through time.
