Abstract
⺠Branched GDGTs in three Pleistocene loess-paleosol sequences were analyzed. ⺠The GDGT-derived proxies disagreed with expected values. ⺠Various potential analytical and ecological reasons are discussed. ⺠Caution is advised when interpreting GDGTs in loess-paleosols.
