Abstract
⺠We examined the biomarkers in Lake Van Turkey to understand production and export seasonality. ⺠The applicability of molecular temperature proxies, TEX86 and U37K, was tested. ⺠Archaea lipids were too low to use TEX86, but its use should be tested in sediments. ⺠The %C37:4 correlates with water column changes and may be used to track past climate. ⺠LCA temperatures were consistent with values in the photic zone but no seasonality was observed.
