Abstract
⺠Previous oil biodegradation scales are inadequate for heavy oils. ⺠Oils at Peters and Moldowan level 5 show viscosity values ranging over an order of magnitude. ⺠The Manco scale resolves oils with an algorithmic sum of eight compound classes.
