Abstract
⺠The ACE index reflects salinity change in terrestrial environments. ⺠The ACE based on core lipids is higher than that based on intact polar (IP) lipids. ⺠The ACE in sediment is lower than that in suspended particulate matter. ⺠IP archaeol and caldarchaeol likely have different degradation kinetics. ⺠Production of caldarchaeol is enhanced in the sediment.
