Abstract
Phytochemical investigation of the roots of Tabernaemontana contorta led to the isolation and identification of two bis-(2,3-dihydroindole) alkaloids, contortarine A and 16-epi-pleiomutinine. Contortarine A was strong QR inducers, while 16-epi-pleiomutinine inhibited the activity of TNF-α induced NF-κB.189
