Abstract
Forty-eight hydrolyzable tannins, including three previous unknown and six artifacts were isolated from the fruits of Terminalia chebula. All isolates were evaluated for their α-glucosidase inhibitory activities. Of these, 1,2,3,6-tetra-O-galloyl-4-O-cinnamoyl-β-d-glucose and 4-O-(2â³,4â³-di-O-galloyl-α-l-rhamnosyl) ellagic acid shown above had the significant inhibitory activities against α-glucosidase.81
