Abstract
We studied the functionality of two DHN1a splicing variants from Vitis vinifera. The recombinant spliced form of DHN1a has a potent cryoprotective effect on lactate dehydrogenase activity, protects malate dehydrogenase against dehydration and partially inhibits Botrytis cinerea growth in vitro. The unspliced variant has very limited functionality.56
