Abstract
Phytochemical investigation of a Malaysian sample of Ficus hispida Linn. led to isolation of an unusual 8,4â²-oxyneolignan-alkaloid, hispidacine, and two phenanthroindolizidine alkaloids, hispiloscine and (+)-deoxypergularinine. Hispidacine induced vasorelaxant activity in rat aorta, while hispiloscine showed antiproliferative activities against four human cancer cell lines.
