Lysophosphatidylcholine is involved in the signaling pathway leading to biphasic generation of ethylene and reactive oxygen species under pathogen attack, which enhance disease susceptibility. LysoPC-induced pathogenesis-related gene expression is responsible in the defense response against pathogen.
