Abstract
- cis-Cinnamic acid analogues was synthesized having substituents on the aromatic ring, and their inhibitory activities on the elongation of lettuce roots were evaluated.
- Para- and ortho-substitution decreased potency.
- meta-Substituted cis-cinnamic acid analogues were more likely to be potent.
- m-Iodo, m-methoxy and m-trifluoromethyl substituents induced higher potency.
